It was a Sunday of such meteorological perfection that even the most hardened of pessimists would have struggled to find fault. The sun shone with a benevolence rarely seen outside of postcards, and the gentle breeze carried with it the scent of freshly cut grass and the distant aroma of smoked salmon and cucumber sandwiches.…

Harberton opened the batting and despite a some fantastic bowling managed a very respectable 93 for Modbury to chase. Chase Modbury did but as the light faded, they managed a respectable but short 74 runs. A great game of cricket played in the stunning setting of Harberton. Next up is South Brent away on Sunday!

Modbury kicked off  the cricket season with a competitive game against local rivals Ermington!  Modbury won the toss and chose to bat. Thursday 1st of May sees Modbury starting their season playing Ermington in a T20 match. First ball at 6pm so please try to get along at 5:30. Nets are held from end of April – end of August on Thursday evenings from 5:30pm at the Modbury Recreation Ground – The Queen Elizabeth II recreation Ground, Chatwell Lane, Modbury, Ivybridge PL21 0FS. We hope to see you there soon!
